Exquisite Quality.
Exceptional File Discipline.
Assist Bankruptcy is a boutique administrative support firm providing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petition preparation and case-support services exclusively to bankruptcy attorneys and law firms.
Built for bankruptcy attorneys. Built around the file. Built to make your practice easier to manage.
Sometimes you don't need more employees.
Sometimes, you simply need more capacity.
A growing bankruptcy practice doesn't necessarily require another full-time employee, another desk, another payroll obligation or another person for the attorney to manage.
What it does require is a reliable process for moving retained clients from document collection through petition preparation and attorney review without allowing the administrative demands of each file to consume the practice.
That's where Assist Bankruptcy comes in.
Your clients need an attorney.
Your files need someone to own the process.
A bankruptcy firm can have plenty of prospective clients and still struggle to grow. The bottleneck often begins after the client retains the firm.
Meet
Tammi
Miller.
She was managing complex files long before she was managing bankruptcy files.
Before founding Assist Bankruptcy, Tammi Miller spent more than 15 years in commercial insurance claims, including work on behalf of some of the country's largest casualty insurers.
Her professional world involved sophisticated, high-exposure matters where significant financial interests, competing priorities, extensive documentation and litigation all had to be continuously managed toward resolution.
Plaintiffs' attorneys. Defense attorneys. Coverage counsel. Mediators. Corporate representatives.
Tammi's work required investigation and documentation, evaluation of exposure, communication with counsel, litigation monitoring, protection of the insured's interests, adherence to established authority and guidelines, cost control, deadline management and consistent movement of complex files toward resolution.
She also holds an MBA and later received specialized bankruptcy training directly from the originator of the virtual bankruptcy paralegal model before building Assist Bankruptcy.
That experience shaped the way Assist Bankruptcy operates today.
The discipline is different.
The standard isn't.
Bankruptcy petition preparation requires specialized training. But the professional disciplines attorneys expect from the people entrusted with their files are universal.
A file should tell the story.
Information should be organized, documented and readily available when the attorney needs to review it.
Problems should surface early.
Missing information and inconsistencies shouldn't wait until the eleventh hour to become visible.
Deadlines matter.
Important dates, outstanding items and next steps must remain visible throughout the workflow.
Clients deserve professionalism.
Your clients should be treated with respect and discretion while your firm's standards remain intact.
Attorney judgment stays with the attorney.
When something requires legal interpretation, strategy or judgment, we escalate rather than assume.
Confidentiality isn't optional.
Bankruptcy matters contain sensitive personal and financial information that deserves disciplined handling.
Somebody must own the file.
You should know what's complete, what's outstanding and what needs to happen next.
Accountability should be clear.
You shouldn't have to chase multiple people simply to determine what's happening with your matter.
And when you call us,
you get Tammi.
This may be one of the most important differences between Assist Bankruptcy and a traditional outsourced staffing arrangement.
Your relationship isn't handed into a pool. You aren't expected to explain your preferences to a different person every time you send over a matter.
Tammi learns your firm's expectations, oversees the relationship and remains accountable for the work moving through Assist Bankruptcy.
That's her job.
As your practice grows, trained Bankruptcy Intake Specialists™ are available to provide additional support behind the scenes—giving Assist Bankruptcy the ability to expand with your caseload while preserving one central point of accountability for your firm.
A better division of labor.
The traditional model asks the same internal team to carry nearly everything. That can work—until volume exposes the limitations of the model.

Your attorney practices law.
Assist Bankruptcy helps keep the bankruptcy file moving.
Time isn't just money in a law firm.
It's capacity.
Is your practice operating as efficiently today as you want it to?
Where are your bankruptcy files slowing down? What work repeatedly lands on the attorney's desk that doesn't require attorney judgment? What could your internal team accomplish if some of the bankruptcy-specific administrative burden were removed?
Where do you want this practice to be three to five years from now?
Perhaps you're building a larger consumer bankruptcy practice. Perhaps bankruptcy is a new practice area you're preparing to grow. Or perhaps the clients are already coming—and your current infrastructure simply needs help keeping up.
Exquisite quality isn't about making things complicated.
It's about getting the details right. We believe excellent bankruptcy support should feel remarkably simple from the attorney's side.
Our job is to make the attorney's job easier.
You don't have to take our word for it.
We don't believe you should have to decide whether Assist Bankruptcy belongs in your practice based solely on what we say on a website.
That's why we created First Petition Free™.
Put our training, communication, file management and petition-preparation process to the test with an actual Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 matter.
If our work doesn't exceed your expectations, you owe us nothing.
If we earn your trust, you simply pay our standard petition fee.
One file.
One opportunity for us to earn your trust.
